Edward Moeller, 67, resident of Davenport for most of his life, died in his home, 2221 Hickory Grove road, at 10 a.m. Tuesday after an illness of two years.
Born Feb. 27, 1870, in Davenport, he received his education in the schools of this city and married Clara Schroepfer on Nov. 25, 1891.
He was well known as a musician having played with a several local groups for a number of years.
After following his trade as a cigar maker for a number of years he purchased a farm near Buffalo, but was forced to retire 12 years ago because of ill health.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Julius Reinhold of Davenport and Mrs. Isaac Carpenter of Walcott, one son, Edward Jr., of Moline; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Zieth (sic) and Mrs. Fred Van Camp, and two brothers, Herman and Fred, all of Davenport. Four grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be in the Runge chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday with burial in Fairmount cemetery.
