FUNERAL TODAY

Mrs. Henry Hoffman, one-half mile west of Davenport on the Buffalo road, died at 4:10 p.m. Friday at the family home after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Hoffman was born March 12, 1850 in Holstein, Germany. She came to America when 18 years old, direct to Davenport, residing in this vicinity since. She married Henry Hoffman shortly after her arrival in America.
Surviving besides the widower are one son, R. H. Hoffman, Davenport; four brothers, Asmus and Johannes Schmidt, Davenport; Theodore and Julius Schmidt of Lincoln, Neb.; four grandchildren and one grandchild (sic).
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock this afternoon at the Runge chapel. Burial will be made in Fairmount cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
