The Davenport Leader and Democrat; Sunday Morning, January 18, 1925:

McCrady

Mrs. Sadie McCrady, wife of William T. McCrady, well known and popular mail man of Davenport, passed away Fiday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the Pine Knoll sanitarium. Her death terminated an illness of two years’ duration.

Sadie Holcomb was born Oct. 10, 1882, at Cape Garard, Mo., being 42 years old at the time of death. She was united in marriage to William McCrady on Oct. 10, 1907, at St. Louis, and lived there until nine years ago when the couple came to Davenport to make their home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert W., and Milton A., one daughter, Katherine M., all of Davenport, her aged mother, Mrs. Lillian Holcomb, a sister, Mrs. William Hite, and a brother, Randell Holcomb, all of St. Louis.

The body was removed to the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home from where funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1:45 o’clock with two o’clock services at the Trinity cathedral. Interment will occur in Oakdale cemetery.

The McCrady Funeral

Funeral services for Saddie [sic] McCrady, wife of William McCrady, were held Sunday afternoon from the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home to Trinity Cathedral at two o’clock. Rev. James Colletti officiated at the cathedral, and at the interment in Oakdale cemetery.

Six friends of Mr. McCrady, all mail carriers, acted as pallbearers. They were John P. Volkens, William C. Guy, Otto Behnke, Frank Shaw, Charles Meyer, and J. Capasius.
