The Davenport Democrat and Leader; Monday Evening, January 12, 1925:

Silberhorn

Mrs. Nettie Silberhorn, 419 South Putnam building, passed away this morning at one o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. J. Madden, 2014 Marquette street. Her death occurred following a sudden heart attack.

The deceased was born in Mannheim, Germany on January 24, 1862, being 62 years old at the time of death. When nine years old, whe came to the United States with her parents, who settled in Maquoketa, Ia. She received her education there, and was there united in marriage to Abe Ast in 1883. Her husband died suddenly in 1889. She later married John C. Silberhorn and they moved to Wilton, Ia. Mr. Silberhorn preceded her in death on September 18, 1903. She had lived in Davenport the past 15 years, and had been a member of the St. John’s M. E. church during her residence here.

Surviving are two sons, F. C. Ast of Silvis, Ill., and J. A. Silberhorn of Maquoketa, two daughters, Miss Laura Silberhorn at home, and Mrs. Eva Madden of Davenport, one sister, Mrs. Henry Zoeller of Chicago, and one brother, Albert Schubach, also of Chicago.

Short services will be held at the chapel of Hill & Fredericks Tuesday afternoon at three o’clock with Rev. Frank Court of the St. John’s M. E. church officiating.Wednesday morning the body will be shipped to Wilton, Ia., where services will be held at the Methodist church at 1 a.m.
Interment will take place in the Wildeson cemetery at Wilton.

Silberhorn

Funeral services were held at the Hill & Fredericks chapel Tuesday afternoon for the late Mr. Nettie Silberhorn, with Dr. Frank Court officiating. Mr. A. E. Cassiling sang “Eastern Gate” and “Holy City.”

This morning at 9 o’clock the body was shipped to Wilton, Ia., where services were held at 11 o’clock. Interment was made in the Wildson cemetery at Wilton.

Silberhorn

The funeral of Mrs. Nettie Silberhorn was held Wednesday morning from the Methodist church in Wilton, Iowa. Rev. R. C. Scott officiated and the three beautiful hymns, “Jesus Lover of My Soul,” “Rock of Ages” and “Nearer My God to Thee” were rendered by Mrs. P. D. McCabe, Mrs. A. M. Darting, Newton Lang, and F. L. Phillips, accompanied by Miss Helen Sugers.

Pallbearers were Fred Rost, Joe Lang, John Rexroth, John Hahn, Charles Hahn and Harry Brown. Interment was made in the Wilderson cemetery at Wilton.
