Constable R. Thelemann Answers Call

Was Recently Elected by Big Majority for Third Time into Office

Robert Thelemann, Davenport city constable, died Saturday evening at 6:30 o’clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. J. O’Brien, 312˝ West Third street. His death terminated a lingering illness of one year. He had been confined to his bed, in the care of his sister, since last August.

Mr. Thelemann was city constable, being elected into that office three consecutive times. At the time of his illness and death, he was serving his fourth year as constable. He was a very pleasant and congenial person, and made many friends, and in the last city election, was elected into office by a large majority.

The deceased was born at LeClaire, Ia., in 1869, and came to Davenport in his early twenties.

Besides his sister, Mrs. W. J. O’Brien, who had been caring for him the past five months, he is survived by a brother, A. Thelemann of Davenport, one sister in Clinton and a number of cousins.

The body was taken to the M. V. Boies funeral home. Funeral services will be held from the chapel there Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock and interment will take place in Fairmount cemetery.
