Slaby

The remains of Miss Mary Slaby, who died at the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Slaby, at 1513 West Seventh street Saturday evening last, were taken to Iowa City for interment this morning on the last mail. The deceased was 17 years and 11 months old at the time of her death.

She has been a sufferer from consumption for many months past and her friends have despaired of her recovery for some time past. About seven weeks ago, she was taken to Mercy hospital for treatment. She stayed there until about three weeks ago, when she asked to be taken home again, as she wanted to die there. The family formerly lived at Iowa City and it was her request that she be taken there for burial.

The deceased was a patient sufferer; a pure sweet girl, drawing all to her with her loving kindness. She was watched and cared for with tenderness and every effort was made to restore her to health, but without avail. The funeral was held today at Iowa City where the interment occurred.
