John Evans proprietor of the Bank saloon died today after a painful illness of inflammatory rheumatism, at his residence of 1818 east Fifteenth street. Mr. Evans was the son of Oliver N. Evans, educated in the public schools of this city. His first business venture was the Evans mattress factory. The Busse hat factory became his next property, and about six months ago, he became proprietor of the Bank. Mr. Evans was 25 years old at the time of his death and has been married about 2 years. He leaves a wife and one child.
