On yesterday afternoon at 5 o’clock, at his residence on west Third street, Franz Joseph Raible passed away. His death was caused directly by the grippe, but indirectly by heart disease complicated with rheumatic troubles. He was born in Wurtemberg, Germany in the town of Nordstetten, in 1832. He came to this country when a young man locating in Davenport 30 years ago, when he began to manufacture cigars. He was associated with Mr. Albrecht for many years, but seven years ago the partnership was dissolved and Mr. Raible went into business for himself on Second street. His business career has been a prosperous one. Mr. Raible leaves several brothers and a large family of children, most of whom have reached adult years. The funeral will be held Sunday morning.
