OBITUARY

VANDERYAGT, Ernst, Theodore. Died last night at 9:45 at home of Mrs. Anna Ternecek, 1330 Ripley street. Funeral Saturday morning.

Ernst Theodore Vanderyagt was born July 14, 1830, in Holland. When he was a young man, he removed with his parents to Saxony and then to Schleswig-Holstein. He came to America when he was yet a young man and spent some time traveling about the country. A number of years ago he settled in Scott county on a farm near Duck Creek, east of the city.

About fifteen years ago he sold the farm and removed to the city. Four years later his wife died and since that time he has been living at the home of Mrs. Ternecek. Mrs. Vanderyagt was a sister to the late Mrs. Esther Hosford. During his lifetime, Mr. Vanderyagt was a man of sterling worth and above reproach. He made two trips to Europe in the past few years. No survivors are left to mourn his loss.

The funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Ternecek. The Rev. C. A. Moore of the Edwards Congregational church will have charge of the services. Interment will be in Oakdale cemetery.
