OBITUARY
WESTENDORF

On Saturday evening at 4:30 o'clock occurred the death of Mr. Ulrich Westendorf at his home No. 1633 Prairie street, at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 5 days after an illness of about four weeks' duration. Mr. Westendorf was well known in the city having resided here since 1854. He was born at Soegel, Province of Hannover, Germany, and came to this country about fifty years ago. Five children, Henry, August, Ben, Mrs. Gertrude Hiebing and Francis, besides Mrs. Kate Westendorf, wife of Frank, who died about two months ago, are left to mourn his loss. The funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock and the interment was at St. Mary's cemetery.

[Ulrich Westendorf was my husband's gg grandfather. He was born 10 Feb 1819 in Soegel, Hanover, Germany to Heinrich and Gertrud Sandker Westendorf. He was married to Friederica Lamping on 3 Aug 1852 in St. Louis, Mo. It is unknown
when she died but it is estimated c. 1873.]
