Mrs. Anna Marie Garvey, 79, of 2116 East Twelfth street, died at 4:10 a.m. Sunday in Mercy hospital after an illness of three weeks.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 9 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a requiem high mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's church, Buffalo. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. The rosary will be recited at Runge's at 8 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Garvey, daughter of the late Hans and Marie Petersen, was born June 9, 1871, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and came to this country direct to Davenport, at the age of 17. In 1891 she was married here to James Garvey, and following their marriage the couple moved to a farm in Scott county. Mr. Garvey died in 1917.

Mrs. Garvey was a member of the Sacred Heart cathedral.

Surviving are a daughter, Miss Vivian Peters, Mansfield, Mo.; 3 sons, Frank M. Garvey, Milan, Charles H. and Matthew P. Garvey, Davenport; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Marie Garvey were held at 9 a.m. at Runge's chapel and at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's church, Buffalo. The Rev. L.M. Boyle conducted the requiem high mass, preached the sermon, pronounced the burial absolution and officated at the grave in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. Bearers were Lewis and Lymond Duesenbury, John Buchmeyer, John Woodward, Leland Garvey and Richard Daniels.

[Anna was my husband's great grandaunt. She was also married previously to Alva Passwater, 22 November 1923. ]
