NECK IS BROKEN, SKULL CRUSHED BY HEAVY BOX
John T. Murrin, Rock Island, Killed in Accident at Arsenal.

John T. Murrin, 63 years old, was almost instantly killed at [?]:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon when two boxes of heavy castings fell, breaking his neck and crushing his skull. The fatal accident occurred in one of the huge storehouses at the Rock Island Arsenal. Murrin died a few minutes after the accident.

Other workmen employed near the spot when the tragedy occurred stated that Murrin was taking castings from a box at the bottom of a tier which stood four boxes high. As he completed his task, the lower box crumbled under the weight of the heavy castings above it and Murrin was buried beneath the heavy irons.

A resident of Rock Island for many years. Mr. Murrin was well known in that city. He resided at 1014 Tenth avenue.
