ANNIE RUSSELL, a 16 year old girl residing at 4215 Fifth Avenue, Rock Island, had a narrow escape from drowning in the river near Sylvan Steel Works. In company with a younger sister and Mrs. Chris Doyle she was sitting on a craft fishing when she fell into the water. She went under once and was rescued by Mrs. Doyle when she came to the surface.
