At a convention of the members of the Seventh Judicial District held in Davenport yesterday, Charles W. Waterman, of Scott County, was chosen on the second ballot as the man whom the convention would recommend Gov. Larrabee to appoint Judge of the district, and the governor has stated he will abide by the action of the convention and comply with its wishes. Mr. Waterman is a man highly versed in the law as his appointment will give general satisfaction. Politically his antecedents have been Republican, but not of the radical prohibition kind.
