Harry W. Eldridge (Joseph H.4, John M3, Josiah2, William1) was born 5 May 1859 in Davenport where he attended Davenport public schools and Griswold College, an all-male school located on what is now Davenport Central High School's campus on the southeast corner - used by Central for classes).
He married Nancy A. Wheelock on 19 September 1888 in Rock Island, Rock Island County, IL. She was the dtr of Alonzo and Mary (no maiden) Wheelock, Moline, Rock Island County, IL.
Harry worked briefly with his father Joseph in the Joe Eldridge and Son Livery Company on E. 3rd St., but most of his working life was spent as a foreman or mgr of livery business in Davenport and a teamster for American Express. The last 14 years he was a salesman and/or attendant for Pennsylvania Iol Co. in Davenport.
He was a member of the Moose and Woodman of the World. He died of a heart attack 23 July 1934 in Avenport. Nancy died 21 October 1943 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Both are buried in Davenport's Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Sec 12 lot 34. They had no children.
