September 28, 1952 - May 20, 2022

Jack Henrich, age 69, of Odebolt, IA, passed away at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, on Friday, May 20, 2022, following a 9-year battle with cancer. Jackie Joseph Henrich was born on September 28, 1952, to parents William and Grace (Gardner) Henrich in Carroll, IA. Jack was baptized at St. Martin’s and confirmed his faith as a youth. He grew up with his family in rural Odebolt and attended St. Martin’s Grade School. He graduated from Odebolt-Arthur High School in 1971. After graduation, Jack enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam conflict. Following the service, he attended Iowa Central Community College where he studied agriculture.

On June 21, 1980, Jack was united in marriage to Marjorie Launderville at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Vail, IA. This union was blessed with four children: Justin, Jay, Jacob, and Jonathan. Jack worked as a farmer with his father and brother Ted in Sac and Crawford counties. Later, he also worked various jobs alongside his family. He loved spending time with his family which included fishing, boating, water skiing, family vacations, and watching the many ball games and activities of the boys. In his spare time, he enjoyed garage sales, gardening, baking, cooking, playing solitaire, watching westerns, and driving “around the section.”

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years Marjorie Henrich of Odebolt, IA; children: Justin (Taylor Owen) of Iowa City, IA, Jay Henrich of Houghton, IA, Jacob (Marc Papenhagen) Henrich of Denver, CO, and Jonathan (Becca Baumhover) Henrich of Wall Lake, IA; siblings: Renea (Bruce Kaiser) of Wayzata, MN, William Jr. (Rita) Henrich of Marana, AZ and Ted (Kathy) Henrich of Wall Lake, IA; grandchildren Logan and Brynn Henrich, and many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents William and Grace Henrich; parents-in-law: James and Ruby Launderville; brother-in-law: Dr. Wayne Bradley; sister-in-law: Beverly Henrich; and niece: Melissa Sorensen.

A memorial fund to support some of Jack’s favorite causes has been established at Iowa State Bank, 219 Main Street, Odebolt, IA. 51458.
