CARL W. RAINEY
Carl Wallace Rainey was born October 23, 1903, in Ringgold County at Kellerton, Iowa, the son of John and Maggie Gilmore Rainey. He passed away January 22, 1994, at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center where he had been a resident for five months.He loved his farm and had continued farming with his brother Ivan until the last year. Carl dearly loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of 66 years; two children, Richard and wife Karen, and Darlene and husband Paul Harvey of Des Moines, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ivan and his wife Lois Rainey of KelIerton, Iowa: nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded m death by his parents, John and Maggie Rainey, and one daughter, Carleta.
Carl was a member of the Kellerton Assembly of God church and was baptized in Decatur, Iowa.
Funeral services were held January 24, 1994 from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Pastor Calvin Gregg. Music was provided by Douglas Greene and Richard Jackson. Casket bearers were Ron Rainey, Glen Sissel, Mike Madden, David Barney, Jack Hoffman, and Gene Hoffman. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Lamoni, Iowa.
