Roland F. “Bo” Watson

Roland F. “Bo” Watson, 89, died of a heart ailment Friday, February 25, 1994, at the Carlisle Care Center, Carlisle, IA. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 1994, at Southtown Funeral Home with burial at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Watson was born in Kellerton, Iowa, on October 9, 1904, and was a retired traffic engineer for Northwestern Bell telephone company. He liked to work with model airplanes, and he and the twins attended many national model airplane meets throughout the United States, each time returning home with many awards. He was a member of Fort Des Moines Presbyterian Church.

On August 12, 1927, the Rev. C.E. Clark married he and Elizabeth Mae Sissel at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Kellerton, Iowa. Four children were born to this union: Carolyn Mae, Sarah Cathryn, James Calvin, and John Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Mae; twin sons, Jim of Des Moines and John of Indianola; two daughters, Carolyn Watson of Des Moines and S. Cathryn Potter of West Layfayette, Ind; a stepsister, Alice Collins of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
