OBITUARIES
Lara May Newburn, daughter of William A. and Louisa Ann Marshall, was born June 4, 1892 approximately 5 miles north of Maloy, Iowa. She passed away April 16, 1992 at the Clearview Nursing Home in Clearfield, Iowa, after having lived at the home the past 19 years.

She was married November 18, 1914 to Charles A. Newburn at Mt. Ayr, Iowa.

To this union, two children were born, Joseph Clyde, deceased and Mildred Louise of Creston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie on December 16, 1963, her son Joe, son in law Wildon Webb, a grandson in law, Lynn Huff, eleven brothers and sisters as well as her parents.

Survivors are her daughter, Mildred Webb, Creston; her daughter in law, Ruth of Clearfield; 7 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

Lora was a lifetime resident of Ringgold and Taylor counties.

Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She had a great granddaughter and a great great granddaughter as namesakes.

Lora loved life and enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, the piano and dancing. She and Charlie attended many square dances, with Charlie playing the fiddle and Lora playing the piano.

They were a favorite to watch on the dance floor winning more than one contest.

Quilting and embroidery were favorite past times.

She found joy and pleasure in doing for others and was always offering a helping hand. Lora was a member of the Clearfield Christian Church.

Memorial services were conducted from the Clearfield Christian Church at 10:30 A.M. April 20, 1992 with burial ion the Clearfield Cemetery.

Pastor Doris Kinton, officiating; music by Mrs. Earl Gaule, Mrs. Harold Nelson and Mrs. Richard Spurrier.

Casket bearers were: Jerry Brown, James Darst, Joe Routh, Rolly Herring, Vernie Horton and George Bailey, Jr.

Final resting place in the Clearfield Cemetery at Clearfield, Iowa.
