He attended the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School at Vinton for nine years - as long as health permitted. Much of his life was centered around his friends at the school he loved. He also loved his home and family ad those whom he knew.

At the age of twelve years, he joined the Kellerton United Methodist Church and faithfully attended the Kellerton and Vinton churches. He loved to sing and was a member of the children's choir in the Vinton church while there.

Donald was patient during his illness and thankful for his many friends who remembered him with cards and visits. He had an amazing memory and a keen sense of right and wrong.

He is survived by his parents; one brother, Richard of Kellerton; three sisters, Joy (Mrs. Alan Stout) of Des Moines, June (Mrs. Robert Boles) of Lamoni, and twin, Donna (Mrs. David Mooney) of Maquoketa; a grandmother Maggie Goldner of Kellerton; one sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law; several aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held April 5, from the Kellerton United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Walter Zarr. The congregation sang, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Weldon Meadows, and casket bearers were Dan Jackson, Glen Turner, Barry Jackson, Doug Virden, Roland Jackson and Russell Corll. Burial was in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton.
