ANOTHER OLD VETERAN GONE

Isaac Thomas WALLER was born on Nov. 15, 1841, near Greenfield, Ind., and died Jan. 9, 1930, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alfred COOPER, of Ellston, Iowa, aged 88 years, 1 month, and 25 days.

He was united in marriage to Mrs. Sarah Jane ARNOLD WALCOTT, Sept. 15, 1870, who preceded in death 15 years aog. To this union were born 6 children - 4 boys and 2 girls, all living. They are: Thomas, Perry, and Mrs. Lillie COOPER of Ellston, John of Osceola, Mrs. Eliza HESS of Traer, and Homer of Hydro. Okla.

Mr. WALLER was a Civil War veteran, enlisting first with Co. E, 54th Ind. Volunteers, and later with Co. K, 134th Ind. Vols. Mr. WALLER’S father and his 3 brothers, making 5 of the same family, served their country during the War, from which two brothers, John and Benjamin, never returned.

Mr. WALLER united with the Christian church early in life and remained a faithful member until the end. He leaves to mourn his death 2 daughters, 4 sons, 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Nancy Jane MELVIN of Ellston, and a great many friends.

The funeral was conducted at the Methodist church, Sunday, Jan 12, at 2 p.m., by Rev. E.L. CARTER, pastor of the church, and was well attended by relatives, neighbors and friends. He was laid to rest in the Pleasant View cemetery at Ellston.
