A telegram last Saturday brought the sad news of the death in Colorado of Little Golda Fay Higgins, only daughter of Marion A. Higgins, formerly of Mount Ayr. The brokenhearted father brought the child back and she was laid to rest Sunday afternoon by the side of her mother whose death occurred May 26th of last year. Death was due to diphtheria, so the funeral was held at the cemetery, in the presence of a large number of friends.

Golda Fay Higgins was born February 13, 1914. She died February 22, 1918, at the age of four years and nine days. She leaves, beside her father, only her grandmother, Mrs. Horsford, and her grandfather, Robert Campbell. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her, and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved father in his peculiarly grievous affliction.
