OBITUARY ~ DORIS MARIE (TRIMBLE) HANNON
December 30, 1924 ~ March 12, 2018

Doris Marie Hannon, daughter of Harry Glen & Lois Pearl (Buck) Trimble, was born December 30, 1924, at home in Rice Township, Ringgold County, Iowa. Doris attended, and graduated, from Mount Ayr Community High School.

On March 5, 1946, Doris married Paul Donald (Pill) Hannon in the vestibule of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maloy, Iowa. They lived most all of their married life in Mount Ayr. Doris worked in the banking business. She began on the ground level and worked her way up through teller to management retiring as Vice-President from US Bank after 41 years of service. Doris was an active member of the Mount Ayr First Baptist Church/United Baptist Presbyterian Church in Mount Ayr. She taught Sunday School and helped in many ways with the church. Doris and Paul did not have children of their own but she was a wonderful loving aunt.

Doris suffered a stroke in December 2015 and became a resident of Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. She passed away there on March 12, 2018.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul on November 19, 2006; brothers-in-law Lloyd Stephens, Gene Hannon, and Jack Hannon; sisters-in-law Veronica Markley and Betty Monaghan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Mary Stephens of Mount Ayr: brother LeRoy and Betty Jean (Butch) Trimble of Mt. Ayr; sister-in-law Barbara Hannon of Denver, CO; nieces and nephews Richard and Linda Stephens of Rock Port, MO, Dennis and Donna Stephens of Mount Ayr, Susan Stephens of Leavenworth, KS, Sandra Stephens of Lawrence, KS; Barry Monaghan of Des Moines, Allyn Monaghan of Creston, John Hannon of California, and Maria Hannon of Denver, CO; 5 great nieces and nephews; 9 great great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established for the United Baptist Presbyterian Church. Services were conducted 10:30 am – Friday, March 16, 2018 at the United Baptist Presbyterian Church with officiant: Pastor Mike Maddy Open Viewing: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 15 at the Armstrong Funeral Home Family Present: 9:30 am – 10:30 am, Friday, March 16 at the United Baptist Presbyterian Church

Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery – Mount Ayr, IA
