Keith, the son of Floyd B. and Mable (Gray) Van Sickle was born on May 8, 1930 in rural Shannon City. He grew up in the Tingley area and graduated from Tingley High School in 1948. He met his wife Evelyn De Vries at the Ringgold County Fair and they were married on April 18, 1948 at her parent’s home in Shannon City. They moved to Newton that same year. Keith worked for the Maytag Company from May 18, 1948 until this retirement in June of 1978.
