OBITUARY ~ TRENT WAYNE STEWART
October 31, 2000 ~ August 31, 2017

Trent Wayne Stewart was welcomed into this world by his parents, Russell Wayne and Jacqueline Renae (Faris) Stewart on October 31, 2000 at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa. Trent had the honor of being little brother to Megann and big brother to Hallee.

Trent grew up on a farm east of Delphos, Iowa and loved the farm life. He helped in every way; hauling hay, driving the grain cart and staying in the field all day long. Trent was an avid fisherman and the “Delphos Lake” gave him plenty of opportunities to out-fish his uncle Bryan. Trent would go all out researching and learning about fishing or anything else he was interested in. He grew up watching his dad race and had raced a couple of times this summer at Stuart, Iowa.

Off the farm, Trent grew up with a love for sports and he played T-Ball, little league, Pop Werner football, junior high and high school football, and basketball. Trent began his Junior year at Mount Ayr High School going out for cross country, so that he could build up his endurance for track. Trent loved track and he excelled at the hurdles. In his sophomore year, he took on leadership roles and lead his shuttle hurdle relay team. He had a strong bond with his coach, Brad Elliott, because of their love of track and car racing. Trent made many friends from other schools because of his time at track meets. Trent was active in 4-H and was a member of the Maloy Shamrocks, and served on county council. He showed cattle and hogs at the Ringgold County Fair and had the honor of grand champion pie one year. Trent took pride in looking nice and had quite a collection of J. Garcia ties.

In addition to his farm and school activities, Trent had a deep and genuine love for the Lord. His faith in Jesus Christ was evident when he was baptized in Loch Ayr Lake on June 23, 2013. He was an active member of Wishard Chapel Community Church. Trent helped with Vacation Bible School. He enjoyed Wishard Chapel Youth Group as they studied the Word and served in food kitchens in Kansas City, Missouri and Clarinda, Iowa.

Trent’s compassion, concern for others, and sense of humor will forever leave an indelible mark on our hearts. On August 31, 2017, Trent went home to be with his Lord.

Those who will always treasure their memories of Trent include his parents, Russell & Jackie Stewart; sisters Hallee and Megann Stewart, all of Mount Ayr; grandparents Judy Stewart of Mount Ayr and Darrell Stewart of Clear Lake, Iowa; aunts & uncles Rod (Elizabeth) Faris of Mount Ayr, Jennifer (Shawn) Byrd of Diagonal and Tracy (Bryan) Foster of Altoona, Iowa; cousins Michael, Richard, and Justin Faris, BrieAnn and Austin Byrd, Kyler and Bryson Foster; nephew Tegan Stewart; other relatives and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee & Martha Faris, and an uncle John Roger Faris.
