April 05, 1959 ~ August 18, 2017Karla K Brumfield was born in Maryville, Missouri to Elgin and Oney (Hopple) Brumfield on April 5, 1959. She passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa following numerous illnesses.
Karla had been unable to work due to illness but when she could work she started care giving at the Glenwood State Hospital School and later at several nursing homes in Southwest Iowa. Karla’s lifelong loves were her cats and dogs over the years. She also enjoyed embroidery and did very nice work.
Preceding Karla was her father, Elgin Brumfield in 1975; sister Sharon Brumfield in 2007; paternal grandparents Bert Brumfield in 1951 and Anna Black in 1986; maternal grandparents Charles (1970) and Susie Hopple (2008); and step father Jack Bailey in 2004.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Oney Hopple, Redding IA; brother Rick (Deloris) Brumfield, Gravity, IA, and their daughter Kim Brumfield, Des Moines, IA, brother Randy (Lydia) Brumfield, Gravity, IA, and his children Amber (Jerime) Bix, Sheridan, MO, and their children Brittany, Tyler and Darren, daughter Mandy Brumfield, Bedford, IA, and her children Morgan and Hayden Beemer, and son Adam Brumfield and his partner Beth Wallace, Bedford, IA and son Elliot Baker; and brother Paul Brumfield and his partner Leisa Rairden, Redding, IA and his daughter Dakota (Uwe) Stegmann, Humeston, IA and their children Riley and Haley Stegmann, and son Dalton Brumfield, many other family and friends.
Services were held Saturday August 26, 2017 11:00 a.m. at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel in Bedford, IA with a visitation on Friday the 25, 2017. Memorials are suggested to the Clarinda Humane Society.
