as usual commencing on next Sunday, providing there are no new cases of small pox before Sunday morning. No cases have developed for over a week, and those who had the disease were not very ill, the epidemic being in a very mild form. There was one exception, John Lee and his was fatal, there being a complication with chronic eczema and kidney trouble. You will know there are to be services if you hear the church bells. In the mean time, it is perfectly safe to visit our city, and you need have no fear of infection. Only two homes now remains under the quarantine.

Of Local Interest

Death of John Lee - A very sad death was that of John Lee, who passed away at his home in Tingley last Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, after an illness of about a week from small pox, complicated with chronic eczema and kidney trouble, aged 68. No funeral was permissible, and interment was private. A good man and exemplary citizen has been taken from our midst. The relatives have the sympathy of all. Obituary later.

[John Monroe Lee was born in Indiana. He married on May 27, 1888 Viola M. Mount. They were the parents of four children. John was interred at Tingley Cemetery. A search in subsequent issues of the Tingley Vindicator did not produce an obituary.]
