May 15, 1960 ~ November 26, 2016Wanda Paxson, daughter of Dave and Eunice (Killian) Westlake, was born May 15, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa. Wanda grew up in Des Moines, and she graduated from North High School.
Wanda worked at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for 28 years in various departments. On March 25, 1989, she married Kenneth Paxson, and Mount Ayr became her home. For the last 10 years, Wanda has worked at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr. Wanda had a heart of gold, and she loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Wanda enjoyed craft shows. She always looked forward to her “girls weekend” in Des Moines during deer season.
Wanda passed away unexpectantly on November 26, 2016.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Kenneth Paxson; two children Kenney (Mandi) Paxson and Samantha (Andrew) Morgan; three grandchildren Anthony and Samantha Morgan and Jax Paxson with one more grandchild on the way; her parents Dave and Eunice Westlake; brother Wes (Kris) Westlake and sister Sandy (Johnny) Parrett; brothers-in-law Eldon (Lorna) Paxson and Wayne (Laurie) Paxson; sister-in-law Lila (Gary) Cross; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa with Rev. Terry Roberts officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Morgan, Samantha Morgan and Jax Paxson. A memorial fund has been established to HCI Care Services in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Burial: Cremation to follow the services.
