November 11, 1935 ~ October 08, 2016James Allen Buchanan was born November 22, 1935 to John and Wilma (Hammond) Buchanan in Tingley, Iowa. Jim was educated in Diagonal school.
After school he joined the United States Air Force. Jim was united in marriage to Elizabeth Catherine Bromwich in 1957 in England. To this union three children were born, John, Gary and Terry. During his time serving in the Air Force they lived in England for 11 years before moving back to the United States. After 20 years, he retired from the Air Force. Jim then began working for civil services at the veterans hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Catherine passed away in 1999.
Jim was united in marriage to Clara Buck in 2009, and they lived in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Jim passed away October 8, 2016 at his home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife Catherine; brother Melvin Buchanan.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife Clara Buchanan; two sons, John (Angie) Buchanan and Gary (Patricia) Buchanan; one daughter, Terry (Bill) Frantsi; sister, Beverly Davis; special brother-in-law Eldon (Donna) Adkisson; three grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren.
Jim will have a funeral service later in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Burial with military honors will be in the Cheyenne Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
