OBITUARY ~ HARRIET R. "BECKY" "NANNY" (HAYWORTH) MOREHOUSE
February 17, 1924 ~ May 31, 2016

Harriett R. Morehouse “Becky/Nanny” (née Hayworth) died at Ashton Place ALF in Sarasota, FL on May 31, 2016 at the age of 92. Becky was formerly from Leavenworth, KS and Mount Ayr, IA.

Becky is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Vila Jean and Tom Clarke of Sarasota, FL; Jane M. and Jerry Gies of Lansing, KS; four Grandchildren: Christion A. and Leslie Clarke of Fishers, IN; Andrea C. and Charlie Bailey of Sarasota, FL; Sean and Portia Stewart of Olathe, KS, Jonas and Angie Stewart living in Japan. Seven great-grandchildren: Abigail and Pat Jones of San Diego, CA, Kendall Clarke at Purdue U in Indiana; Claire Bailey; Donavan and Moira Stewart; Olivia and Nora Stewart. She also had two great-great-grandchildren; Grayson and Penelope Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky was born on Feb. 17, 1924 in Sheridan, MO to Alpha and Mina Hayworth. She married Charles W. Morehouse in 1945. They were married 58 years. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2003.

Becky enjoyed crafts, reading, cooking and spending time with her dear friends. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Leavenworth until her death.

A Celebration of Life service will be held At Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth at 10 a.m., July 8, 2016 with grave side burial at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Becky’s life. Family requests no flowers. We ask you to take a moment and remember a special time you had with our mother that made you smile. Condolences can be sent to jclarke89@verizon.net.
