September 23, 1985 ~ July 08, 2016Sydney Nicole King was born September 23, 1985 to Marvin and Carolyn Davis. At age 5 Sydney was adopted by Dan and Esther King in Grant City, Missouri, joining her brother Christopher King.
Sydney attended Kindergarten through third grade at Worth County R-3 in Grant City, Missouri. Dan and Esther moved the family to Redding, Iowa where she finished 3rd through 12th grades at Mount Ayr Community School. She graduated in May, 2004.
Sydney has lived in Wisconsin over the past 10 years. She recently returned to Redding to raise her son Hayden in a smaller community.
Sydney was preceded in death by her biological parents, Marvin Davis and Carolyn Weddle, grandparents, Loren and Edna Baker and Edwin and Lorraine King.
Surviving are parents Dan King of Redding, Iowa, Esther King of Corning, Iowa, brother Chris King, also of Corning, sisters, Lacey of Wichita, Kansas and Jennifer King of Corning, biological siblings, Jan, Marie, Nancy, Lisa, Terry, Harley, Chris, Todd and Dustin and their extended families.
Funeral services for Sydney were held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Blockton Christian Church in Blockton, Iowa. Interment is in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Blockton. Visitation was from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri.
