OBITUARY ~ PEARL LOIS (VANDIVER) HAUPTMANN
December 29, 1911 ~ June 02, 2016

Pearl Lois Vandiver Hauptmann, age 104, of Macon, MO, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, in Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, MO. She was born at Locust Hill, MO on December 29, 1911, to Robert and Myrtle Troutt Vandiver. She had two sisters Jewel Daugherty and Helen Taylor and one nephew Elwood Dale Daugherty and a special friend Charlotte Boedeker, all deceased.

Pearl was married to Edward Hauptmann of Kirksville, MO on August 10, 1930. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1990. They were a devoted and loving couple, working together during their many years. She served as a secretary in his office, accompanying him and his students to conventions and contests, as a sponsor. She lived in Atlanta, MO, LaPlata, MO, Mount Ayr, IA, Macon, MO, Edina, MO, Moberly, MO, and back to Macon, MO.

She was a graduate of the Kirksville Senior High School, attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, and took adult special education classes at Iowa State University at Ames, IA.

Pearl was a member of the Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday school classes of young children and teen age youth groups, sang in the church choir, helped in the women’s organizations of the church and other organizations and clubs throughout the years. She was a regular attendee of church when health permitted and enjoyed giving of herself to others.

She leaves a special friend Joe Boedeker of Macon, MO, Edward’s niece Mary Anna and Vic Eaton of Plymouth, MN, Elwood’s wife Marilyn Daugherty of Moberly, MO, one great nephew, Kevin Daugherty of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, two great nieces, Kerry Carnahan of Moberly, MO, and Kelly Lester of Lohman, MO, cousins and many friends.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, in the Linville Mausoleum in Edina, MO. Ron Troutt will officiate the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. There will be no visitation.

Memorials are requested to the College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO, 65276. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO, 63537.
