OBITUARY ~ MARGARET LOUISE (EURITT) CAMPBELL
January 24, 1918 ~ May 18, 2016

Margaret Louise (Euritt) Campbell was born January 24, 1918 to Everett Euritt and Bernice (Laird) Euritt in Ringgold County, Iowa. She graduated from Mount Ayr School then attended a Bible school in Nebraska in 1934. Margaret came back to Ringgold County and taught rural country school for 5 years. She then went to AIB (American Institute of Business) in Des Moines, IA in 1941.

On October 17, 1942 she was united in marriage to Ira John Campbell. After Ira returned from the service they started a family. They had two boys, Robert and Jerry. In 1955 Margaret returned to teaching in Mount Ayr at a rural country school for five more years. For six years she worked nights, weekends and summer school for her bachelor of science degree from Drake University. In 1961 the family moved to Des Moines where Margaret found a job teaching school. She went on to night school working weekends and summer school to get her master’s degree +30 hours from Drake University. For for the next 21 years she taught junior high English at Meredith Jr. High and was a guidance counselor at Hoover High School. Retirement came in 1982 after teaching more than 30+ years. She and Ira then moved back to the farm where she was raised. In her retirement years, she and Ira did a lot of traveling. She especially enjoyed watching her grandkids and great grandkids growing up. Family and church was very important to her.

Margaret passed away May 18, 2016 at the Mount Ayr Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ira; son Jerry Don Campbell; brothers Marion and Donald Euritt, sisters Evelyn Carson and Ruth Papp. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert Jon (Teresa) Campbell of Branson, MO; three grandchildren, Bryan (Tiffany) Campbell of Los Angeles, CA, Amanda (Jamie) Trammel of West Des Moines and David (significant other, Heather) Campbell of San Francisco, CA; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kaden and Tripp Trammel and Ethan, Emily and Charlotte Campbell; many nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the United Baptist Presbyterian Church in Mount Ayr, IA with Pastor Mike Maddy officiating and Nancy Sackett and Carol Ann McCreary providing the music.

Casketbearers were Bryan Campbell, David Campbell, Tyler Trammel, Amanda Trammel, Jamie Trammel and John Harris.

The final resting place is Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, IA. Memorials have been established for the Jerry Campbell Scholarship Fund in Ottawa, KS. Arrangements by Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home.
