OBITUARY ~ CLEMENT CHARLES "CLEM" SHEREK, SR.
March 14, 1937 ~ February 05, 2016

Clement Charles Sherek, Sr. of Donna, Texas passed away on February 5 [2016]. He is survived by his first wife, Elaine Kaler Bates and their children, Gloria Barrera, Leonard Sherek, Martha Mirol, Charles Sherek and Lisa Ann Webb. His second wife, Sally Sullivan Sherek and children, Trisha Arnold and Troy Neal. And the love of his last years, Glee (Bear) Toney. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Prinz of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Grandchildren include John Haynie, Catherine DeShaw, Matthew and Stephen Barrera, Gwennaelle and Clement Mirol, Justin and Kyle Sherek, Jade Webb, Olivia Neal, Krystle Weems, Jacob Stevens and nieces and nephews.

Clem graduated from Texas A & M in 1959. He was a proud Aggie and the first in his family to earn a degree. He served his country in the U.S. Army and Reserves.

In 1967 he brought his family to the Rio Grande Valley and built a business, South Texas Urethane, Inc. that provided for his family and many employees for over 30 years.

Clem was a musician and loved singing and playing the guitar. He took his talents to church and led singing there as well. He had an amazing ear and could pick up any instrument and play it.

He loved fishing, hunting, cooking and his family and many friends.

In accord with Clem's wishes a celebration of his life will be held on February 20, 2016 at 3 pm at the Unity Church of the Valley, 301 E. Polk Street, Pharr, Texas. A reception will be held following the service. All friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Unity Church of the Valley.
