Thursday, October 18, 2012OBITUARY ~ ALYSSA LORRAINE KUONEN
Alyssa Lorraine KUONEN, daughter of Christopher and Ashley KUONEN, was born on October 4, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Alyssa was born with a rare heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and Right Aortic Arch with an aberrant left sub-clavian artery. She grew her angel wings and went to heaven on October 9, 2012.
Although Alyssa was only here with us a few days, she touched the lives of many and was very much loved.
She was preceded in death by great-grandparents Norman REYNOLDS, George SAVILLE, Daughn and Lorraine REASONER, Lyndon NICHOLS and Andy and Dolores KUONEN.
Those who will forever cherish her memory include her parents, Christopher and Ashley KUONEN of De Soto, Iowa; her six-year-old sister, Addison Kay KUONEN; her four-year-old brother, Connor Jay KUONEN; grandparents, Tim and Lesa SAVILLE of Delphos, Iowa, Ken REYNOLDS of Des Moines, Iowa, Jay and Lori GREIF of De Soto, Iowa and Cory KUONEN of Creston, Iowa; great-grandparents, John and Juanita SICKELS, Norma SICKELS, Dorothy REYNOLDS and Dorothy SAVILLE, all of Mount Ayr, Iowa; uncle, Joe SAVILLE and cousins Chloe, Brodie and Silas SAVILLE; uncle, Garrett REYNOLDS; aunt, Megan FITZGERALD and cousin Tenley; uncle, Ryan FITZGERALD; aunt, Dakotah REYNOLDS and cousin Mia; aunt, Hannah SAVILLE; aunt, Cheyanne REYNOLDS; uncle, Ben SAVILLE; aunt, Ashley Nicole KUONEN; aunt, Jessica FOLTZ, and a loving extended family and many family friends.
A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided later. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr was in charge of the arrangements.
Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Mount Ayr, Iowa on Saturday, October 13, 2012, with Rev. Skip RUSHING officiating. Organist was Deb CANNON. Special music included "All of Me," "Little Light" and "Save a Place For Me."
Casket bearers were Christopher and Ashley KUONEN.
A private family burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr.
