OBITUARY ~ RICHARD B. SCHERRUEBLE
August 10, 1939 ~ June 11, 2012

Richard B. SCHERRUEBLE, 72, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, at a nursing home in Aurora, Ill. He was born August 10, 1939 in Aurora, IL, the son of Milton H. and Cleora (BYRNE) SCHERRUEBLE.

Richard retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad after many years as an electrician. He also worked for the EJ&E Railroad and Naperville School District #203. Richard was always willing to help family and friends with their electrical issues.

Richard was in the Air Force, stationed in Omaha, NE, where he met his wife. He was an avid car and train fan for many years, and was a HAM radio enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marjorie (PARKER) SCHERRUEBLE of Aurora; a daughter, Kimberly (Timothy) FORBES of Sheridan and their children, Timothy and Emily; a daughter, Kelly (David) HARTER of Gilberts and their children Paige and Kaci; a brother-in-law, Doyle PARKER of Shannon City, IA; sisters-in-law, Helen (Tom) GUTT of Liberty, MO and Joyce MANSHIP of Dallas, TX and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents. He was also preceded in death by his special son, Duane A. SCHERRUEBLE.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60531.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. from the Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr. Interment was made at Redding Cemetery, Redding.

Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr was in charge of arrangements.
