Wahl, Joseph Van Reuben -
Joseph Van Reuben Wahl was born in Washington County, Iowa July 10, 1868, and died at his home southwest of Diagonal, Jan. 4. 1920, at the age of'51 years, 5 months, and 24 days. He made his home in Washington County, until about eight years ago he came with his wife and children to this community and here they have since resided.

On Feb. 19, 1892, he was united in marriage to Edith Fernald, and to this union five children were born. Two daughters, Mrs. Wava Balderston, of Clearfield, and Lola, and three sons, Fred who went to his eternal home the 18th of last May, Francis and Cecil who are at home. The two sons and two daughters, the companion and wife, four sisters and one brother are those to whom the loss will be most keen. The sisters are Mrs. Symphia Sharp, of Colorado Springs. Colo., Mrs. Mary Leech, of Des Moines, Mrs. Martha Gray and also the brother, Lewis Wahl both of Wellman, Iowa, and Mrs. Viola Lyon, Sebeka, Minn.

When but a young man he became a Christian and sought to live as his Master would desire. He united with the Grant Center Methodist
Church where he was a member at the time of his death.

He has been in poor health for a number of years, and especially the last year his suffering has increased, but he has been a patient sufferer.

Services were held at Grant Center Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock and the body laid to rest in the Clearfield Cemetery. Our sympathy goes out to his sorrowing family.
