Pine, Jesse Ritchey –
Mrs. Jesse R. Pine, 78, died Saturday March 20, 1954 at 1:15 p.m. at the home of her son, Allen near Lenox. She had lived in the Lenox vicinity 21 years.

Funeral services were Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church here with the Rev. Willard M. Morris officiating. Burial was in the cemetery at Diagonal.

Jesse R. Pine was born, the daughter of A. J. and Mary Ritchey Oct. 27, 1875 at Alexis, Ill., and passed away March 20, 1954 at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 21 days.

On Dec. 11, 1895, she was united in marriage to Fred A. Pine, and they made their home in the Alexis community for xi years.

In 1901 the family moved to a farm west of Diagonal, Ia., where they lived until they moved to Galesburg, Ill. in 1920. Five years later they returned to their farm near Diagonal, remaining until 1932, when they came to the Lenox community.

For many years, Mrs. Pine was a member of the Presbyterian church of Diagonal and then transferred her membership to the Lenox United Presbyterian Church. She remained active in the church until her final illness.

Surviving her are a son Max E., of Galesburg, Ill.; a daughter, Faye, (Mrs. W. R. Rees) of Mesa, Ariz.; and a son, Allen L of Lenox; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death on Dec 27, 1945, and a son, Jack, died in 1933. Throughout her life, her family, her home, and her church were her principal interests. Her many friends and relatives remember her with love.
