Mrs. Delia Owens, 84, long time Taylor county resident, died Monday, Dec. 7, at 8 p. m., at her home here, she had not been well for a year and had been bedfast the past week.

Funeral services were Wednesday at the Lenox United Presbyterian church with Rev. W. W. Morris officiating. Burial in the Clearfield cemetery. Survivors: her husband, Ed; 1 son, Mark Owens of Ellston; 1 daughter, Mrs. John Knox of Clearfield; 5 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Page of Lenox.

Owens, Adella Griffon “Della”
Adella Griffin, daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Griffin was born in Peoria, Ill., May 3l, 1869, and died at her home in Lenox, at the age of 84 years 6 months and 7 days. She moved with her parents to a farm near Lenox at the age of 6 months.

She attended a country school near her home and then went to Lenox High School, where in 1888 she was a member of the second graduating class of the school. She taught school in and around Lenox for 25 years, during which time she furthered her education with a summer term at Cedar Falls, la.

She served as Taylor County Supt. of Schools for two years. She was united in marriage with Ed L. Owens Nov. 28, 1911. They lived in or near Clearfield for several years, and later moved to Lenox, where they made their home until her death.

Mrs. Owens leaves to remember her kind and loving ways, her husband, Ed Owens, a son Mark Owens of Ellston; a daughter, Mrs. John Knox, of Clearfield; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 nieces, Mrs. Eula Beach of Lenox, and Mrs. Stella Clarke of Kansas City, a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Page of Lenox and a host of relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and one brother.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox, a charter member of the Lenox chapter of the Order of Eastern star, and a former member of the L. F. C. Club. She was a devout Christian, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 9 at her home church,Rev. W. W. Morris officiating. Burial in Clearfield Cemetery.
