Duey, Sadie Vea Markham -
Mrs. Sadie Vea Duey, 57, died at her home in Clearfield at 1 a. m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Crew Funeral Home there at 2 p. m Friday. Rev. C. S. Hoffman, pastor of the Presbyterian
church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Clearfield cemetery.

Mrs. Duey had lived in Clearfield for the past four or five years and previously had lived for many years in the Prescott vicinity. She was the daughter of H. L. and Clara Markham and was married to Carl Duey on February 16, 1916. Her husband died March 2, 1949. She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.

She is survived by two brothers, Guy Markham of Springdale,
Ark., and Vern Markham of Otis, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.

Duey, Sadie Vea Markham -
Sadie Vea, daughter of H. L. and Clara Markham, was born at Graham, Mo., Dec. 3, 1893, and passed away at her home in northeast Clearfield at 1 a.m., Aug. 22, 1951, at the age of
57 years, 8 months and 19 days.

She received her education and grew to womanhood near the place of her birth. She was married Feb. 16. 1916 at Lenox, Iowa, to Carl P. Duey of Graham, Mo., and they established their home near Fillmore, Mo., but six years later moved to Iowa, locating near
Stringtown. In 1948 they moved to their farm three miles north
of Clearfield. On Jan. 1. 1941 they came to town, and on Nov. 2. 1949 death claimed the husband and companion.

She united with the Antiock Christian Church in Andrew county. Mo., when 15 years of age. She later transferred her membership to the Federated Community church at Stringtown, where it remained. She
was faithful in her attendance at church services and helped in all its activities. She was known for her kindness and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three
brothers and one sister. Surviving are two brothers, Guy Markham of Springdale, Ark. and Vern Markham of Otis, Colo., nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m., Aug. 24th, at the J. R. Crew Funeral Home with burial in the Clearfield cemetery.
