OBITUARY ~ LUCILLE (BARTH) FISCHER
September 19, 1920 - June 1, 2011

Lucille FISCHER, 90, died on June 1, 2011 at Southridge Nursing and Rehab in Marshalltown, Iowa. Services were held Monday, June 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Interment was at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Pursel Davis Funeral and Cremation Care was entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.vogelfuneralhomes.com.

Lucille was born Sept. 19, 1920 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Louise Elizabeth (née MUELLER) BARTH. She attended one-room schools in Racine county, Wisconsin. On September 26, 1942 she married Verland FISCHER in Saint Martins, Wisconsin. Together they had three children, Joynell, Gary and Rod. Lucille enjoyed listening to Verland play banjo and guitar in a Wisconsin band. Once Verland left the band, Lucille spent time in her favorite activity dancing with Verland at many social events throughout their 56-year marriage.

Lucille and Verland moved to Iowa in 1949 and lived in Tama, Toledo, Mount Ayr, Gladbrook and Marshalltown. While living in Mount Ayr, Lucille worked as a nurse aide at Clearview Nursing Home for eight years, followed by eight years as laundry supervisor at the Ringgold County Hospital. She was an excellent cook and baker, enjoyed being around her grandchildren and found strength and solace attending church at Trinity Lutheran in Marshalltown.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verland, and one younger sister, Eileen BERTRAM of Greenfield, Wisconsin.

Survivors include Joynell (Larry) RAYMON of Marshalltown, Iowa; Gary (Kathy) FISCHER of Washington, Iowa; Rod FISCHER of Ames, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Marian FISCHER of Brookfield, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Brian (Sue) Raymon, Chad Raymon, Jared Raymon, Stacee (Jeff) Gehring and Ryan (Bobbi) FISCHER; four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Anna, Evie Lucille and Carys, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
