OBITUARY ~ GEROGE LEWIS SAVILLE

George Lewis SAVILLE was born September 30, 1926; the 1st child of Leland & Zanita SAVILLE of Redding, Iowa. He passed away at the Ringgold County Hospital on April 21, 2011 at the age of 84. George attended rural Ringgold county schools and graduated from Redding High School in 1944. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and following military service attended college at Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Mo. George was united in marriage with Dorothy Mae JEANES on August 6, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Born to this union were 6 children; Sally, Dennis, Martha, Neil, Timothy and Linda. They also have 14 grandchildren; Ryan, Scott & Kevin STEPHENS, Amy & Bonnie SAVILLE, David SWANSON and Bethany Nere; Joe, Ben and Hannah SAVILLE, Garrett Reynolds & Ashley KUEONAN , and Jennifer and Thomas HOSFIELD.

George was a member of the Redding United Methodist Church and the Redding American Legion. He owned and operated a farm near Redding for 42 years. He also taught business subjects and coached sports in schools in Breckinridge, MO, Diagonal, Iowa & Clearfield, IA. He enjoyed sports of all kinds all of his life. He cared for his land and livestock. George & Dorothy enjoyed spending some of the winter months near Mission, Texas and enjoyed new friends & activities there. They also enjoyed traveling during their retirement years, visiting children & grandchildren. Of all things in life, George enjoyed his family.

George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, and all six of his children; Sally & husband Jim STEPHENS of Bellevue, NE, Dennis & wife Timi SAVILLE of Cheyenne, WY, Martha & husband Mike SWANSON of Council Bluffs, IA, Neil SAVILLE of Laramie, WY, Tim & wife Lesa SAVILLE of Delphos, IA and Linda and husband Gary HOSFIELD of Redding, Iowa; two sisters Eva KNAPP of Mt Ayr and Pearl JAMES and husband Jim; sister-in-law Patricia HUNT & husband Bill; brother-in-law Charlie JEANES & wife Vickie; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial fund is established in his name to be decided later.

Funeral Services were held Monday, April 25, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr. Interment was made at Redding Cemetery, Redding, Iowa.
