OBITUARY ~ SCOTT BOYD CAPWELL MIRINGOFF
March 21, 1952 ~ March 30, 2011
Scott Boyd CAPWELL, son of Clebert Boyd CAPWELL and Jean Ruth CAPWELL MIRINGOFF, was born March 21, 1952 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Later in his life, Scott was adopted and at that time became known as Scott David MIRINGOFF. Scott grew up in Florida. He had a sister, Diann Ruth CAPWELL and a brother Glenn Ross CAPWELL, both deceased.
Scott served in the U.S. Coast Guard, being discharged in 1970. He lived in rural Redding, Iowa with his special friend, Thomas Michael SEIFFERT, for 15 years before Tom died.
In March of 1999, Scott became employed by Mount Ayr Health Care Center in Mount Ayr, Iowa. The staff and residents of the care center became his family as he learned to know them all. While caring for the environment they knew as home, Scott lent a listening ear to the good times and the hard times of their lives. Being introduced to them, Scott learned about family and friends because they meant so much to the residents. Scott was caring, honest, frugal but most of all he was a good listener and those who knew him thought of him in these ways. For those young people who Scott came to know, his advice to them was to make the best for themselves; education is imperative for a successful life.
Scott passed away on March 30, 2011.
He was preceded by his parents; siblings; and friend Tom SEIFFERT.
He is survived by his extended family and friends at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center and in the community.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
Friends are encouraged to meet at the Redding Cemetery prior to the 3:00 pm Graveside Services, Redding, Iowa.
Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr is in charge of arrangements.
