OBITUARY - OBED PARSONS
1932 ~ 2010

Mr. Obed PARSONS, 78, of Willow Springs died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at University Hospital in Columbia [Missouri] as a result of an automobile accident Dec. 11.

A memorial service for Mr. Parsons will be held at a later date.

He was born March 16, 1932, in Maloy, Iowa, to Obed King and Freda Bernice HOWELL PARSONS.

Mr. PARSONS was married to Freda SIEGRIST on Sept. 10, 1954, in West Plains.

He worked for 28 years for the city of Columbia as a firefighter, retiring as first lieutenant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, travel and reading; he especially enjoyed reading Westerns. He was described by his family as simply the best man in the world. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Freda PARSONS, of Willow Springs; his children, Ramona Mae LEWIS of Auxvasse, Ruena Lynn KINSAUL of Jefferson City, Ronnie Obed PARSONS and his wife, Shirley, of Clark, and Rita Ann CASON and her husband, Scott, of Fayette; grandchildren Christina, Chase, Cindy Mae, Daniel, Cortney and Joshua; six great-grandchildren; nieces Sharon and Cathy; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Mr. PARSONS was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and six sisters.

Remembrances may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home in Willow Springs.
