OBITUARY - OLETA JANE (BARBOUR) MOON
November 8, 1919 ~ January 21, 2011

Oleta Jane BARBOUR MOON of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on January 21, 2011.

Oleta was born November 8, 1919 in Le Roy, Iowa to Mabel and William G. BARBOUR. The youngest of five children, she graduated from Beaconsfield high school in 1936. Oleta married Normand C. MOON on June 26, 1938 and began married life on a farm in Beaconsfield, Iowa. To this union a son, Charles, was born in 1940. They moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1942, where they lived for over 62 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; her parents; three brothers, and a sister.

She is survived by her son, Charles, and his partner, David, her granddaughter, Bevin, and her husband, Bill, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandson, Christopher and wife Shawna, and great-grandchildren, Sean and Mariah, all of Amery, Wisconsin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many longtime friends, including her best friend, Lucile JACKSON of Ellston, Iowa.

Graveside services were held at Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha on January 25 with Reverend Mike LINCOLN officiating.
