OBITUARY - ELEANOR LOUISE (CAMPBELL) MILLER
March 7, 1992 ~ February 3, 2011

Eleanor Louise MILLER, 88, passed away on February 3, 2011.

Eleanor was born to Floyd and Bernice CAMPBELL on March 7, 1922 in Mount Ayr, Iowa. She married Delmar MILLER in 1942 and eventually moved to a farm east of Mount Ayr where they raised their four children; Linda GOUGER (Mike), Gale MILLER (Diane), Duane MILLER (Donna) and Jim MILLER. In 1968, Eleanor and Delmar moved to Altoona and later to Valley View Village in Des Moines.

Eleanor was a lifelong learner and educator. She graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1940 and Drake University with a BSE in 1964 and MSE in 1973. She taught school in Ringgold County, Mount Ayr Community Schools and SE Polk. She later worked for the State of Iowa before retiring in 1987. Eleanor was a member of the Altoona Christian Church for over 35 years.

Eleanor leaves to mourn her death her four children, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; sister Thelma MAXEY and brother John (Rose) CAMPBELL.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delmar; brother Loren CAMPBELL and sister Annabelle.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 7 from 9:30 am until the start of the services at 10:30 am at the Altoona Christian Church. Eleanor will be buried next to her husband, Delmar, at 3:00 p.m. in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Altoona Christian Church, 2890 1st Ave. S, Altoona, Iowa 50009 or Caring Hands Food Pantry, 201 9th Street Northeast, Altoona, IA 50009-4212.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr, Iowa.
