September 21, 1989SYLVIA ADAMS DIES - DES MOINES
Sylvia Marie ADAMS, 82, of Des Moines, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 1989, of cancer at her home.
She was born March 14, 1907, in Iola, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Jeannie (ARNOLD) VANATTA. She married Paul G. ADAMS, who preceded her in death in 1959.
Mrs. ADAMS worked at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in the dietary kitchen, retiring in 1972.
She is survived by two daughters, Verla WOOD of Urbandale and Sandra COZAD of Glenpool, Okla.; a sister, Martha HOFF of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at the Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines with the Rev. Paul BAWDEN officiating. Burial was at the Ellston Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice.
