OBITUARY - EDDIE JOE "ED" HUTCHINSON
December 10, 1942 - September 12, 2010

Eddie Joe HUTCHINSON, 67, of Diagonal passed away September 12th, 2010 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr. Eddie was cremated at his wishes and a private graveside service will be held at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Ed HUTCHINSON, son of Glen & Doris HUTCHINSON, was born December 10th, 1942 in Mount Ayr, Iowa. He lived most of his life in Ringgold County except for one year in Lottin, Oklahoma; one year in Houston, Texas; and four years in Dade County, Florida. He returned to Mount Ayr for a time and then finished his senior year of high school in Diagonal, graduating in 1961. He then went on to Iowa State University and Parson's College where he played baseball graduating in 1965. He taught and coached in the Mount Ayr school district for several years.

He married Linda HENRY in 1971 and they later divorced.

Ed was a fur buyer for several years and then became involved in the real estate business. He was an avid golfer and devoted a lot of time to the game.

Eddie is survived by his mother, Doris HUTCHINSON of Diagonal; a brother Gene HUTCHINSON and wife Terry of Orient; a sister Jo Ann and husband David RATHE of Creston; an aunt Lola PEPPMEIER of Mount Ayr; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Glen HUTCHINSON.

Watson Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr was in charge of arrangements.
