OBITUARY - VANCE GEIGER, REDDING

MOUNT AYR - Vance GEIGER, 81, of Redding died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 1, 1988, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr. The Revs. Phil and Doris KINTON will officiate with burial in the Redding Cemetery. There is open visitation at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr.

Memorials may be directed to the Vance GEIGER Scholarship fund.

Mr. GEIGER was born Sept. 16, 1907, in Redding to John and Mary Ellen (LEE) GEIGER. He married Zeline DEFENBAUGH June 30, 1936, in Albany, Mo. He was a lifetime resident of the Redding area and northwest Missouri. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1930 and received a master's degree from the University of Iowa in 1940. He was an educator and teacher having taught at Hopkins, Mo., Delphos, Blockton, and Mount Ayr. He also worked as a supervisor of student teachers at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Zeline of Redding.
