OBITUARY - HELEN R. (DUFTY) LASSON

Helen R. LASSON, 87, died February 12, 2004, at a Loveland [CO] nursing home. Helen R. DUFTY was born July 5, 1916, in Tingley, Iowa to Herbert and Julia C. (AMBROSIER) DUFTY. She graduated from Deaconess Evangelical School of Nursing in Marshalltown, Iowa in 1937. She had a career as a private duty nurse.

She married Leon "Duke" LASSON on February 3, 1940, in Marshalltown. She moved to Loveland in 1991 from Chiefland, Fla. While in Loveland, she was a member of the United Methodist Church and she enjoyed crafts, playing bingo and cards and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading.

Her husband preceded her in death in August of 1991. Sisters Florence DEMLING and Loretta CHENEY and brother Horton DUFTY also preceded her in death.

A son, Lee LASSON and his wife Sandy of Glen Haven and grandchildren Tony and Cassie LASSON of Glen Haven survive her.

A memorial service was held Feb. 16 in the Loveland Good Samaritan Village Chapel with pastor Wes PIXLER officiating. Graveside services and interment are Wednesday, February 18 at Chiefland Cemetery.

Kibby-Fishburn Funeral Home of Loveland is in charge of the arrangements.
